Helsinki, Finland

Rhodeside & Harwell worked with the Page team to develop and renovate this U.S. Embassy site in the historic Kaivopuisto neighborhood of Helsinki.  The project allowed for the consolidation of all Embassy functions and includes construction of a new facilities. Renovation of the existing buildings includes an office annex to create the Innovation Center. The Embassy campus now provides a secure, modern, and environmentally sustainable platform for diplomacy in Helsinki. The landscape reflects Finland’s natural beauty while incorporating steep slopes to capture dramatic views to the Baltic Sea. A native birch grove, woodland plantings, and natural boulders define space, retain slopes, and helped the project achieve LEED Platinum certification.
