PORT TOWNS SECTOR PLAN
A Series of Villages along a Historic Riverfront
Set along the Anacostia River in Prince George’s County, Maryland, the Port Towns community is rich in history, cultural diversity, and recreational amenities. Working closely with the Maryland-National Capital Park & Planning Commission, Rhodeside & Harwell provided urban design recommendations and revitalization plans focused on five areas within the 1,700-acre Port Towns planning area: the Peace Cross District, Bladensburg Road, Edmonston Road, Edmonston-North, and Annapolis Road. The concept creates distinct villages set around a defined central core. The process involved a community charrette and extensive public input.
