A Secure but Welcoming Diplomatic Center

Perimeter elements of this tropical U.S. Embassy compound provide security while blending in with the architectural vernacular of the highly urban neighborhood. Rhodeside & Harwell designed the ten-acre site to include generous pedestrian spaces and employee gardens, as well as comfortable and accessible consular spaces. The design also retained several large existing trees to soften the site and provide shade for visitors and embassy staff.
