Preserving a Landmark Seaside Destination

The City of Cape May, New Jersey, identified community participation as a vital component in the development of its public realm vision plan. Rhodeside & Harwell assisted in developing the plan and creating a program for public engagement throughout the process. Outreach efforts encompassed several public meetings and workshops, surveys, and stakeholder interviews to explore preservation and improvement measures for public lands and spaces, including the beachfront. A popular destination for tourists and preservationist, Cape May is a National Historic Landmark and a resort community noted for its distinctive Victorian character.
