Located 20 miles east of New York City on a barrier island off Long Island’s southern coast, this park was conceived and developed by Robert Moses in 1929 as the crown jewel of an extensive network of parks and parkways. Jones Beach’s 2,400-acre park, 6.5-mile long white-sand beach, and Art Deco buildings continue to provide users with high quality, diverse recreation in a sustainable, clean, and safe environment. The revitalization initiative incorporates historic preservation, climate resilience, updated retail, and exciting recreation enhancements. Our sister firm, Studio RHLA is implementing many of these new ideas.
