Washington, D.C.

Rhodeside & Harwell led a multidisciplinary team in the design of landscape and grounds improvements at a prominent federal building on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C.  Much of the historic marble curbing was conserved. New paving reflects the original architect’s design and the project includes preservation of original trees and refurbishment of the landscape installed in the early 1930’s. This new landscape includes water conservation gardens, recognizes the L’Enfant Plan for the District of Columbia with bronze markers, and enhances security upgrades completed in 2013, building and site expansion, and the changing needs of employees.
